Advance in Educational Measurement: A Rasch Model Analysis of Mathematics Proficiency Test

The purpose of this paper is to provide evidence of the adequacy of Rasch Model analysis in providing richer interpretation regarding examinee performance. The discussion centers on measurement of Mathematics proficiency construct using the analysis of a self-developed Mathematics Proficiency Test (MPT) with a sample of 588 14 years-old examinees. The result showed not only measurement of the construct met the Rasch Model assumptions; the test also demonstrated good psychometric properties
